learning to fly

Saturday, April 14, 2007tee

Lately, I’ve learned to face and look at my fears in the eye. I’ve learned to slowly, although not totally, let go of my inhibitions and doubts. I’ve learned to go beyond what’s holding me back and slowly, take the plunge.

I’ve learned to go out of my protective shell and reach out into the real world. To slowly let down my guard, put down my masks and barriers. I’ve been hiding into shadows for so long. And true enough, being a coward hinders you from a lot of things.

There’s really nothing to be afraid of but fear itself.

Like a newly-hatched bird, I shouldn’t stay on the nest forever. Sometimes, it takes a little push for you to discover that you can actually fly.

And so, here I am, spreading forth my wings, trying to soar high.

Hopefully I won’t fall and crash real hard. ü But if I’ll do, I’ll just stand up and try again. A little bruised and scratched, maybe.

But still, in the end, flying...
