cooking 101 - ala steamed fish

i have been racking my brains for healthy recipes which i can do. and i realized i have been missing a lot of food from home. with Dessert Factory's steamed fish in mind, i cooked my variation of steamed fish. you'll find out in a minute why it has a variation.


ingredients
fish fillets, sliced into small pieces (bite size, around 2")
2 tbsp. onion leaves, thinly sliced
2 tbsp. ginger, julienned
half medium carrot, julienned
1.5 tbsp. light soy sauce
1 tsp. black sesame seed oil

  • mix the sesame oil and light soy sauce in a bowl. 
  • on a saucepan, put in the mixture with the slices of fish. cook over low heat. (optionally, you can cook it by steaming for about 20 minutes, but since i didn't have a steamer i had to improvise. thus the "ala" and the "variation".
  • add in the thinly sliced onion leaves, ginger and carrots.
  • remove from heat once the carrots are cooked.
  • garnish with onion leaves.
