Growing with DG

Bishan DG Family Picture. The top one was really a candid shot. :P

Fresh from a DG retreat over the weekend, I have come to appreciate how encouraging it is to be able to share our lives no matter what phase or season you are at. It is encouraging to see God at work in each of our lives be it through struggles, challenges, or through triumphs and celebrations.

I wrote about our DG previously and I couldn't be more thankful and grateful that God led us together to fellowship and encourage one another in our individual daily walks with Him. We are not perfect, holier-than-thou people, we are REAL, normal, everyday people in dire need of God's grace and help on a daily basis and I am thankful for these people whose lives have become intertwined with us. Our weekly studies, fellowship and sharing have been something we look forward to as try to walk in God's path that He has laid in front of us.

Our study on Psalm 139 specially touched and stirred something in me - a feeling of reassurance of God's unconditional and accepting love, even loving and accepting the things that even I find to accept or love about myself. It also reassured me that the future is not in my hands (thank goodness), but in His hands and I can cast all my worries about the uncertainties of the future by this knowledge. All I have to do is cast it all to Him and put my unwavering trust in Him as He knows best. I must admit it doesn't come naturally for a worrywart, control-freak, OC, and organized planner like me, but I am trusting that I am a work in progress and trust that with His grace and His time, I can. :)
