Nesting and then some

Friday, March 06, 2015tee

They say one of the signs that you're almost at the end of the proverbial finish line is when you have this strong urge to nest. Throughout the pregnancy, J and I have been pretty calm and chill with the process and though it's not a bad thing, I've always wondered if I will ever get the nesting bug or not.
Nesting is commonly characterized by a strong urge to clean and organize one's home and is one reason why couples who are expecting a baby often reorganize, arrange, and clean the house and surroundings. - Wikipedia
Soon enough, I did. I wanted to wash everything, sort everything, buy everything and just have everything packed already! The drawers were soon filled with organizers full of baby clothes, accessories, manchester and essentials. I was obsessed with preparing everything and making sure we had the everything on hand (at least the basics). It came to the point when I had a sickie but ended up cleaning up and tidying and washing bub's clothes!

Packing was something I took my sweet time doing, especially choosing outfits for the bub. I wanted everything to be perfectly and effortlessly coordinated to the point the hubster pointed out that he feels I'm going to throw a fit if the little one becomes baduy or for some reason ends up with an outfit that clashes. Haha, yes crazy as it sounds, priorities, priorities.

Now at 37 weeks and finally on maternity leave, I finally have time to finish everything and prepare all that I could for bub's coming. (call me crazy but I wanted to work til then because I wouldn't want to be bored, though I regret it during the last three weeks when the bed was beckoning me every morning to stay and just sleep in!)

The parents have arrived, so the past few days haven't been lonely, and the niece have been a handful too, so time has been flying quickly so far. I know I should get some well-deserved rest to prep for the days to come, but I seem to just run on auto-pilot and continue to sort through things, finish chores and keep busy.

So here we are, nursery and dresser all set. Bags are packed. We're excited and ready for you, little one.

For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mothers womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. -Psalm 139:13-14, NIV
God's design is indeed perfect and amazing. Thought of sharing these wonderful photos of life inside the womb and an motherhood advertisement that touched me this week. Hope you have a good weekend :)
